Ever since I saw this image ([link]) regarding a crack theory about The Magical Mystery Cure, I have not been able to unsee it. I mean, what proof do we have that anything after that fade to black is real, and not just Celestia trying to make Twilight Sparkle's transition into the next life as comfortable and happy as she can? Heavy.
Also, here is a no text version as requested by [link]
I thought she was riding a toilet...anyways, it's already confirmed that Twilight would not leave her friends to rule Equestria because she's too young. She may rule Equestria when she becomes about 25-35 years old
I believe the point of this comic was not Twilight dying after she became an alicorn, but dying when the elements or harmony made the big flash, leaving a SCORCH MARK on the ground.to her friends, that could well have looked like Twilight just being vaporised off the face of the earth, and everything after that point was some big fantasy thing, I don't know.
also: We don't know for sure if Twilight is immortal. Creators have said she will not outlive her friends (though that's pretty vague) and Cadance, also an alicorn, is shown to age like a normal pony, and actually became an alicorn in a similar way to Twilight, she earned it.
OH MY GOSH! Ok, let me explain. Before I even got a DA account, I saw this. I loved it, but had no way of saving it. Months, maybe years later, I get a DA account... But I couldnt find this drawing! Now... I'VE FOUND IT!
Ok, now to soak in the feels..... (*Starts crying. A lot*) Why? -sob, sniffle- Why?
Besides this being SO SO sad, I love it and I'm glad I finally found it!
I do not believe this is what happened or this is a dark truth behind Twilight's ascension, however your portrayal of the event is appropriately dark and in-character to how I think it would look if that was what happened. Especially how out of all of them Applejack's handling it the best, probably because she's already dealt with and overcome loss in her life. All in all, very heart-pulling.
What makes this picture powerful to me is how Twilight's friends are being realistically portrayed: Rainbow Dash and Rarity are attempting to be strong by comforting Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie, Spike is overwhelmed, considering he has lost his only real mother-figure, and Applejack is praying to her deceased parents. A very sad, but well done picture.
Besides, it's like Twilight graduated to college. She had learned much of the magic of friendship. Maybe she's still learning it. She'd followed the virtues, but no. She wouldn't leave her friends to rule Equestria. She's too young to rule. It's CELESTIA who turned her into an alicorn.
