Soarin and Rainbow Dashby *PluckyNinja

I figured that the soarindash fans out there would enjoy a slightly higher-res, textless version of Rainbow Dash's little flight into fantasy with Soarin' from my Spitfire tumblr (if you haven't been following it, check it out here: [link]). This particular panel was a lot of fun to draw just because of how sugary and innocent it is.

I'm going to do my best to not be bias here, because I don't like SoarinDash at all. So anyways, I've always really admired you and your art, and this piece is no exception. Your shading, highlights, and colors look wonderful! The background is cute and sets the mood: dreamy and romantic. Your anatomy looks nice and show-accurate, not to mention the priceless expressions! I really love the little details you add in to your pieces. I don't really know how to put it in to words, but I love it. So although I'd rather it be Spitfire with Soarin, I do think that this is a wonderful work of art. Be proud!(:

The pic is fricken adorable as all get out. Shading is well done, emotion well portrayed and everything seems to be in place. I'd like to just say all of the image is great and leave it at that. However, a critique is a critique, i'll continue. With all that's done well there are a couple of spots that irk me, (some are personal and don't go into the rating, some are in general and will be a part of the critique)
One of these things is the mouths. I know it sounds weird and so, but I feel that the mouth style is not portraying of ponies, they almost look more human (It's only minor, and what mainly brings this to my attention is because the ears seem oddly placed on rainbow dash.) I would say something about the background, being to simplistic for the rest of the pic, but in a way it characterizes the moment, since I don't know how it would've looked with a different BG, but it still works for the moment. Only two things other than that that get me are the ear shading on RD maybe the constant shipping of SoarinDash. But there's not much to complain about. It's a good piece. Good work.
